Day 1 – September 4, 2017 (Monday)

Salarjung Museum
This museum houses one of the biggest one-man collections of antiques of the world by Mir Yousuf Ali Khan, Salar Jung III. The objects d’art include Persian carpets, Moghal miniatures, Chinese porcelain, Japanese lacquerware, famous statues including the Veiled Rebecca and Marguerite and Mephistopheles, a superb collection of jade, daggers belonging to Queen Noor Jahan and the Emperors Jahangir and Shah Jahan, Aurangzeb’s sword and many other fabulous items.

Charminar
The Charminar is as much the signature of Hyderabad as the Taj Mahal is of Agra or the Eiffel Tower is of Paris. Mohammed Quli Qutb Shah, the founder of Hyderabad, built Charminar in 1591 at the centre of the original city layout. It is said to be built as a charm to ward off a deadly epidemic raging at that time. Four graceful minarets soar to a height of 48.7 m above the ground. Charminar has 45 prayer spaces and a mosque in it. Visitors can view the architectural splendour inside the Charminar. The monument is illuminated in the evenings and a pedestrianisation project around the monument is under implementation.

Mecca Masjid
A two hundred yards southwest of the Charminar is the Mecca Masjid, so named because the bricks were brought from Mecca to build the central arch. The Qutb Shahis never finished the building of the mosque, which was completed by Aurangzeb in 1694.

Laad Bazaar
This is famous, colourful shopping centre of the old city, tucked away in one of the streets leading off from Charminar. Bridal wear, Pearls and the traditional Hyderabadi glass and stone studded bangles are sold here.

Day 2: September 5, 2017 (Tuesday)

Hussain Sagar Lake and Budhdha Statute

Excavated in 1562 A.D. by Hussain Shah Wali during the time of Ibrahim Quli Qutb Shah, the lake has a promenade that is a busy thoroughfare today. Boating and water sports are a regular feature in the Hussainsagar. One of the World’s tallest monolithic statues of the Buddha stands on the ‘Rock of Gibraltar’, in the middle of the lake. Added to all these, AP Tourism has additional boating facilities like speed boats, motor boats, 48 seater launch etc. Starlit dinner on-board and private parties also can be arranged on the Launch.
Surroundings of Hussainsagar Lake provide marvellous entertainment options like NTR Gardens, Necklace Road, Tank Bund, Prasads Multiplex, Lumbini Park, Sanjeevaiah Park etc.,

Birla Planetarium
The B M Birla Planetarium was the first phase of the Science Centre. This was a very important landmark for inculcating scientific temper amongst amateurs, lay men and students in particular. It has been acclaimed to be amongst the very best with a better rating than those in Europe, the US, Far East, Soviet Republics and elsewhere. The cosmic presentations here have highlighted various mysteries of the Universe as they have unfolded-from Halley’s comet through space explorations of the solar system to the riddles of Black Holes and the newly discovered dark energy. This apart, special interactive sessions for students are organized. The Planetarium also conducts a popular course on Astronomy and Astrophysics. The Planetarium also regularly creates exhibitions on relevant topics.

Hitex City and Cyberabad
The Hyderabad Information Technology and Engineering Consultancy City, abbreviated as HITEC City, is one of the leading Information Technology, Engineering, Health informatics, and Bioinformatics hubs of India situated in Hyderabad, India. Spread across 200 acres (81 ha) of land under suburbs of Madhapur, Gachibowli, Kondapur, Manikonda, and Nanakramguda, the technology township is also known as Cyberabad. HITEC City was commissioned initially with L&T ECC and was named L&T INFOCITY. The Project is being developed by Larsen and Toubro Limited through its Special Purpose Vehicle, L&T Hitech City Limited, a joint venture company of L&T Infocity Limited and Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Limited. HITEC City has emerged as the symbolic heart of cosmopolitan Hyderabad.

Shilparamam
Another attraction at Madhapur besides Hi-tec city in Hyderabad is the 30-acre village, which showcases arts and crafts of the country. India is an ocean of various arts and crafts but the talent of most of the artisans and artists goes unrecognized. To encourage them and give the necessary boost to their art, the crafts village hosts annual bazaars, where artists and artisans from all over the country exhibit their talent.

Day 3: September 6, 2017 (Wednesday)

Paigah Tomb
Paigah Tombs or Maqhbara Shams al-Umara, are the tombs belonging to the nobility of Paigah family, who were fierce loyalists of the Nizams, served as statespeople, philanthropists and generals under and alongside them. The Paigah tombs are among the major wonders of Hyderabad State which known for their architectural excellence as shown in their laid mosaic tiles and craftsmanship work. Made out of lime and mortar, these tombs are 200 years old

Qutub Shahi Tomb
Erected in the memory of the departed kings of Golconda, they are magnificent monuments that have withstood the test of time and nature’s vagaries. They are located one kilometer north of Golconda Fort’s called Banjara Darwaza. They are imposing marvels of architectural excellence that stand as the reminders of the glory of Golconda kings who are buried at the same spot. Built by the Qutub Shahis, these tombs are considered to be among the oldest historical monuments of Hyderabad. These tombs are present in a large group on a raised platform. They resemble Persian, Pathan and Hindu architectural styles that makes use of grey granite, with stucco ornamentation and is a one-of-its-kind place in the world where the whole dynasty is buried at a single spot. It is surrounded by landscape gardens called Ibrahim Bagh.

Golconda
Golconda is one of the famous forts of India. The name originates from the Telugu words “Golla Konda” meaning “Shepherd’s Hill”. The origins of the fort can be traced back to the Yadava dynasty of Deogiri and the Kakatiyas of Warangal. Golconda was originally a mud fort, which passed to the Bahmani dynasty and later to the Qutb Shahis, who held it from 1518 to 1687 A.D. The first three Qutb Shahi kings rebuilt Golconda, over a span of 62 years. The fort is famous for its acoustics, palaces, ingenious water supply system and the famous Fateh Rahben gun, one of the cannons used in the last siege of Golconda by Aurangzeb, to whom the fort ultimately fell.

Taramati Baradari
Located at Ibrahimbagh on Gandipet Road and just outside the Golconda Fort, Taramati Baradari is one of the popular monuments of Hyderabad. Consists of a music hall with 12 entrances and was used an an auditorium. It is situated on the top of the hill, which was done so as to avoid any disturbance to the sound from the population of the surrounding area. It was built for residence of legendary dancer sisters Taramathi and Premamathi who used to perform at two separate pavilions which are circular dais atop a two-storied structure for Abdullah Qutub Shah. They used to often perform dances on a rope that was tied between Sultan’s balcony and their place. This is the reason why Shah created Taramati Baradari with astonishingly fine acoustics so that her voice would reach him at the Golconda Fort, which is lesser than 3 km.

Day 4: September 7, 2017 (Thursday)

Chowmallah Palace
Nizam Salabhat Jung is credited with initiating the construction of this palace complex in 1750 and Nizam Afzar-ud-Dawla Bahadur who ensured that it was completed between 1857 to 1869. The Chowmahalla complex which is a replica of the ShahÕs Palace in Teheran, Iran, consists of two courtyards with elegant palaces, the grand Khilwat (the Durbar Hall), fountains and gardens.

Falaknuma Palace
Taj Falaknuma Palace stands two thousand feet above the city, and is a testimony to the famed life and times of the Nizams of Hyderabad. Built in 1894 for the Nawab Vikar-al-Umra, and later used as the residence of the Sixth Nizam Nawab Mehboob Ali Khan. Since the death of of the Nizam VI, the Palace has mainly been used as a royal guest house. The crown of the Nizam is depicted on this imposing ceremonial entryway to the palace. It has two clocks facing east and west, both completely restored. Above the gate is a chamber where musicians played drums and shehnais to announce the arrival of distinguished guests. Falaknuma houses a large collection of rare treasures including paintings, statues, furniture, manuscripts and books. Falaknuma Palace The jade collection of the palace is considered to be unique in the world. The palace was built in the shape of a scorpion with two stings spread out as wings in the north. The middle part is occupied by the main building and the kitchen, Gol Bangla, Zenana Mehal, and harem quarters stretch to the south. The Nawab was an avid traveler, and his influences show in the architecture. The Falaknuma palace is a rare blend of Italian and Tudor architecture. Its stained glass windows throw a spectrum of colour into the rooms.

Day 5: September 8, 2017 (Friday)

Durgum Cheruvu
Situated quite close to the Hi-tech City, Durgam Cheruvu is one of the popular sightseeing places of Hyderabad. Presenting captivating scenic beauty, the lake is also known as the ‘Secret Lake’ as it is hidden by the surrounding granite rocks. The rock formations surrounding the lake are spread across an area of 63 acres of land and are said to be approximately 2500 million years old. Currently it has been developed into a hangout place where people come and spend some time in a relaxed environment by the side of a calm water body. Durgam Cheruvu now has an artificial waterfall and floating fountain which attracts more visitors. It is nothing less than a pleasant wonder to see a calm lake and rocks, beside the concrete buildings of offices and a shopping mall. It is also called as the ‘Madhapur Lake’, Durgam Cheruvu promises some refreshing moments to each and everyone.

NTR Gardens

Deemed as one of most expensive gardens in India, the NTR Garden is a popular attraction of the city of Hyderabad. Sprawling across an area of 55 acres, it houses the memorial of the great leader of Andhra Pradesh, Late N T Rama Rao. The park was created by the Government of Andhra Pradesh with a lavish budget of 40 crores, in order to honor the respectable leader. Today, NTR Garden is not only one of the most beautiful locations of Hyderabad, but is also regarded as an attractive leisure and entertainment centre.

Nehru Zoological Parks

Spanning 300 lush green acres, the Nehru Zoological Park is a must for nature lovers. It has over 250 species of animals and birds, most of which are kept in conditions as close to their natural habitats as possible. This is the first zoo to create moated enclosures for animals. The Lion Safari Park, Natural History Museum and Children’s Train are the added attractions. Mir Alam Tank: Mir Alam Tank is a large lake adjacent to Nehru Zoological Park. AP Tourism operates boats on the lake, for which one has to enter through the Zoo.

DAY 6: RETREAT TO RAMOJI FILM CITY
